ABOUT The Meaning of "The Jesse Tree"
The name "The Jesse Tree" is inspired by a passage from the Book of Isaiah (11:1): "A shoot will come up from the stem of Jesse; from his roots a branch will bear fruit." This powerful imagery reflects our mission to nurture growth and provide essential resources to those in need. By offering support and guidance, we aim to cultivate hope, inspire change, and create lasting impact in our community.

Continuing the CHARITABLE Tradition
Virtual Empty Bowl 2021: A New Way to Give
For over two decades, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Galveston County has been crafting beautiful ceramic bowls to support the Annual Empty Bowl Event, benefiting The Jesse Tree's nutrition programs. While this year’s event will be virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions, the need for support has never been greater. On Friday, January 22, 2021, nearly 400 handmade bowls will be showcased online, symbolically filled with soup, as we raise funds to continue providing meals and wellness services to those in need within our community.
